Healthcare expenses incurred before your affiliation will continue to be reimbursed by your former mutual during the legal period (generally up to 2 years after the date of care). From your affiliation date, your new reimbursements will be handled by your new mutual, without any interruption of your rights. As for compulsory insurance (INAMI), nothing changes: the reimbursements, conditions and amounts are identical in all mutuals, as they are set by Belgian law. Only the complementary benefits and reimbursements may vary from one mutual to another.
